A sincere thank you goes out to all of you who prioritized your time, talents, ideas, money and efforts to enhance the quality of our Sunday School in 2025! The children (and families) participated in several projects this year:
March – Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child Kickoff
This was a combined effort by Sunday School, Confirmation and the congregation. Lists were posted every couple of months showing items to be collected throughout the year leading up to a packing session in November.
April- Sunday School class singing performance at the Easter Sunday service.
Thanks to Sue Williams for accompaniment and Robin Frenzel for Easter baskets.
May – Feed My Starving Children Service Day
Sunday School and Confirmation classes invited CLC members to join in this global food packing project. Sixteen people participated this year.
July – Lava Lava Luau Vacation Bible School (VBS)
For the first time, Messiah members and staff joined us for this combined event. Twelve children attended, and many helpers from both congregations came together to make this Thursday/Friday/Friday night event a success.
September – Rally Day of Giving: Sleep in Heavenly Peace, - Bunks Across America
This event was suggested as a Rally Day project. Only four people from CLC volunteered, but several people from Messiah were there too. Fun!
October – Bibles gifted to Sunday School children
Ten children, ages 6+, received the Hands-On hardcover bible as a gift from CLC in an effort to enhance Christian education.
November – Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child Packing Party
We were able to pack 36 boxes for world-wide distribution to kids in other countries of the world. Thank you to Christ’s Crew for paying the $10/box shipping and handling fees. We’ll track our boxes in the new year!
December – Sunday School Christmas Program: Finding Gifts, Giving Gifts … Unending Gifts Children spoke into a microphone their “gifts” for baby Jesus and memorized a verse to say in unison during this presentation on December 14th. We repeated the Nativity Room display this year. (And, thanks to several kitchen helpers we enjoyed the warmth and joy of hot cocoa and cookies!)
Sunday School for children ages 3 years through 12 years meets during worship after the Children's Time through MAY 25, 2025. Come and learn! Bring a friend!
